The ministries of Commerce and Agriculture announced that Colombian beef has overcome phytosanitary barriers and will arrive in Saudi Arabia in the coming months.

This was achieved after a phytosanitary diplomacy work that different institutions such as Invima, ICA and ProColombia have been doing. Four plants in the country located in Santander, Córdoba and Antioquia obtained the phytosanitary authorization or admissibility to reach this Middle Eastern market that consumes more than US $ 400 million of meat annually.

José Manuel Restrepo, Minister of Commerce, indicated that this process responds to the Colombia Exporta strategy, which seeks to "promote the export culture and support entrepreneurs to imprint the DNA of internationalization in their companies and in their business models."
